Sleep insights without the hardware tax.
Oura Ring costs $299. WHOOP is $239/year. Yet the best-performing pure-software sleep apps use nothing but phone sensors and on-device ML — zero hardware required, zero hardware cost.
SleepDeep takes the same approach: privacy-first, on-device processing, no server storing your biometrics. All computation stays on your phone. The result is a sleep tracker that costs less than a coffee per month and never goes obsolete when a new ring comes out.
Capabilities.
Sleep stage detection
Detects light, deep, and REM sleep using accelerometer and microphone data processed entirely on-device with Core ML / TensorFlow Lite.
Smart alarm
Wakes you during a light sleep phase within a configurable 30-minute window — so you surface feeling rested, not dragged from deep sleep.
Recovery score
A daily 0–100 score combining sleep duration, stage distribution, consistency, and heart rate variability (if Apple Watch data is available).
Trend analysis
Weekly and monthly charts showing sleep quality trends, average bedtime drift, and correlations with next-day mood ratings.
HealthKit & Google Fit sync
Reads and writes sleep data to the system health store so your data flows into other apps in your health stack without duplication.
Privacy-first architecture
All sleep audio and sensor data is processed and discarded on-device. Nothing is uploaded. No account required to start tracking.

Frequently asked.
How does it track sleep without hardware?
SleepDeep uses your phone's accelerometer to detect motion and an optional microphone (with your permission) to detect breathing patterns. The phone sits on the mattress or bedside table during sleep. On-device ML classifies stages from this signal data.
How accurate is it compared to Oura or WHOOP?
Phone-based sleep tracking is less accurate than dedicated wearables for REM detection, but is excellent for total sleep time, light/deep distinction, and trend analysis — which is what most users actually need to improve their sleep. The $61K MRR comparable app proves the market is comfortable with this trade-off.
Does it affect battery life?
SleepDeep uses background sensor access optimised for overnight use. Typical overnight battery usage is 8–12% depending on device. The smart alarm disables sensors after wake detection.
