Terms of Use
1. Who we are
Bet Free is a mobile application published by Deployd ("we", "us", "the Developers"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the Developers. By downloading, installing, or using Bet Free, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and discontinue use.
2. Eligibility
Bet Free deals with sensitive subject matter related to gambling addiction and recovery and is intended for mature users. You must be at least 17 years of age to use Bet Free. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
3. License to use Bet Free
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Bet Free on devices you personally own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
This licence does not include:
- Selling, sublicensing, or commercially distributing the app
- Modifying, reverse-engineering, or decompiling the app
- Removing copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Using the app to build a competing product or service
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Bet Free to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Generate, distribute, or store unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harassing content
- Submit another person's protected health information or sensitive personal data to the AI companion
- Attempt to circumvent the daily free-message limit or subscription enforcement
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the app's services
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the app
Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your access without notice or refund.
5. AI companion & crisis support
Bet Free includes an AI companion powered by Anthropic's Claude models, intended to offer supportive conversation and practical next steps as you work toward quitting gambling. The companion is not a therapist, doctor, sponsor, or crisis counsellor and cannot diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or manage emergencies.
Crisis detection. Messages you send to the companion are screened by a two-layer safety system — an on-device keyword scan, followed for ambiguous messages by an AI classifier. If either layer detects signs of a potential crisis, the app shows a dedicated Crisis screen with region-appropriate crisis hotlines, links to gambling self-exclusion services such as GamStop, Gamban, and the National Council on Problem Gambling, and, if you've added them, your sponsor and trusted contact. This screen requires a deliberate 2-second press to dismiss and does not respond to the back gesture.
Bet Free is not a crisis service and is not monitored in real time. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, are facing severe financial distress, or are thinking about harming yourself, contact emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
6. Your data, backups & security
Bet Free stores your journal entries, check-ins, streak history, gamification progress, and settings in an encrypted local database on your device, along with your financial-tracker estimates and emergency contacts (if added). You may optionally set a Backup PIN to encrypt exported and locally saved backup files; Bet Free keeps up to 7 days of local backups.
You are solely responsible for your backups and your Backup PIN. Deployd cannot recover your data or reset a forgotten Backup PIN — if you lose your device, uninstall the app without a backup, or forget your PIN, your data cannot be recovered. The "Delete all data" option in Settings permanently and immediately erases your streak, journal, and chat history, and cannot be undone.
7. Recovery tools & gamification
Bet Free includes a streak counter, daily check-ins, and a gamification system (XP, levels, and badges) that reward consistency. This system is a motivational tool only and has no monetary value — progress cannot be exchanged for money, goods, or services, cannot be transferred between accounts or devices except via manual backup and restore, and may be reset if we detect abuse of these Terms. We may adjust the XP formula, level thresholds, or badge conditions at any time.
Financial tracker, self-exclusion resources & emergency contacts
You can record an estimate of your total financial losses to gambling, shown privately on your home screen as a personal reminder — never shared or transmitted. You can also optionally add a sponsor and a trusted emergency contact, stored only on your device. The Crisis screen links to gambling self-exclusion services such as GamStop, Gamban, and the National Council on Problem Gambling.
8. Subscriptions & payments
Bet Free is free to download and use, with one AI companion message and one journal entry per day at no cost. Streak and check-in tracking is free forever.
A Bet Free Pro subscription removes these daily limits, unlocking unlimited AI companion messages and unlimited journal entries.
Billing
Pro is offered as weekly, monthly, and annual subscriptions (some including a free trial), and as a one-time Lifetime purchase. All purchases are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, whichever you used to install the app, and are managed via RevenueCat. The Developers do not process or store your payment card details.
Auto-renewal & cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. You can restore a previous purchase at any time via Settings → Plan → Restore purchases.
Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by the platform through which you purchased (Apple or Google). The Developers do not issue refunds directly.
9. Disclaimer of warranties — not medical or financial advice (important safety information)
Bet Free is not a substitute for professional psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice. Gambling addiction can have severe mental health and financial consequences that the AI companion cannot diagnose, treat, or resolve. If you are experiencing an emergency, facing severe financial distress, or contemplating self-harm, contact emergency services, a crisis hotline, or a certified credit counsellor immediately.
Bet Free is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app, the AI companion, or the crisis-detection system will be uninterrupted, error-free, or will catch every concerning message.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Deployd and its team members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of data or gamification progress, or financial losses, debts, or legal consequences arising from gambling activity — arising from your use of or inability to use Bet Free.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Bet Free shall not exceed the amount you paid to Deployd in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability — in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Termination & changes to these terms
You may stop using Bet Free at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the app — in which case we will provide at least 30 days' notice and pro-rated refunds to active annual or lifetime purchasers where applicable.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Bet Free after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
